It turns out one cannot grasp the meaning of second summer, the second chance you give to life and love until one actually experiences it. I met with my dear husband on my second summer, and our lives changed. To do the things we’ve never done before, go to places we’ve never been, eat the things we’ve never eaten, to redesign life together!
Before making the final decision to move here, we went on long trips with our kids to South Africa, Australia and many other destinations- nope, there was no place like the Czech Republic! It was unanimously agreed that where we wanted to move in Czech, and decided to locate in the cutest village of our favorite region Sudet, where we spent beautiful days during our trip. We bought a German primary school (Volksschule) from 1855. The most striking feature of this building was the clocktower on top its roof. The school's location and architecture was exactly how we imagined it; a unique and different getaway home.
Getting lost in the forest by foot, on a horse, or a bike, and passing through clear streams, whose corners are blossoming with thousands of flowers. Greeting deers, swimming in drinking waters, skiing and snowboarding in the midst of a historical site, passing through villages that have remained the same since the 1800s. Living today in the middle of history, and always running into modern people, to be free!
With these feelings, we made our first trip to a city we both have always delayed going to: Prague. All of a sudden, everything clicked, and a desire to build our new life together in these lands sparked in us. If you ask why, there are way too many reasons we can possibly tell. A history that hasn’t been touched by man, an enchanted nature that changes everyday like paintings, healing waters, modern, well intentioned people, art, sports, fun… We could go on for pages. The best thing about these beauties is because they are accessible to everyone!
A place where our kids can get married, our grandkids would love, a place that embraces our big family that will get even bigger with our dear guests, a place that will make our dreams come true!

Hi I am Nazli! I am a PhD student, teaching assistant and researcher at University of Southern California, studying health communication and women's health. I graduated from Princeton University in 2012 and got my master's in health and science journalism from Columbia Journalism School.
I also have a health and wellness blog inspired by the most recent health and fitness trends in Los Angeles. I am especially looking forward to consulting Méyana's guests on healthy eating and living habits.
Personally, I cannot wait to relax in Méyana's Turkish bath after a long day of swimming, hiking, and horseback riding, and watch the sunset holding a hot cup of almond latte :)
